With Stefan Edberg at his side Roger Federer is playing better tennis than for a long time. The world number eight reached the semifinals in Australian Open, beating Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Andy Murray. Two weeks ago he won the ATP 500 tournament in Dubai.
From the beginning their cooperation was said to last in approximately ten weeks, until the end of March. Edberg now confirms they have extended it until the end of 2014.
– We have told each other to try to keep the cooperation for the rest of the year. It's all confirmed, Edberg tells Expressen.
"More flexible"
– We have done the first part, and from now on it will be more flexible. It's good for both parts, so we don't get too locked up. Now we have something to build on depending on what happends in the future, Edberg said.
Stefan Edberg has just returned from Indian Wells where he spent time with Federer, to play the veteran tournament Kings of Tennis in Stockholm.
